At Amapola Arts, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to learn and create.

Our community-based art classes and workshops are open to people of all backgrounds, abilities, and experience levels, with and without disabilities. Through guided instruction in pottery, painting, photography, and other visual arts, participants learn new skills, express their creativity, and connect with others in a welcoming, inclusive setting.

Amapola After Hours

Third Fridays are different at Amapola! Join us for an evening of cafecito, art, music, and good company.

☕ 5–6 PM | Cafecito Hour | FREE

Enjoy Puerto Rican cafecito, traditional bites, music, and conversation. Bring a friend and stay awhile! No registration required.

🎨🏺 6–8:30 PM | Canvas $60 • Clay $75

Choose painting or pottery for a fun, guided creative experience. No experience necessary. All materials included. BYOB welcome! Registration required.

Advance registration required for Canvas and Clay.

Enjoy flexible, self-directed studio time for pottery or canvas painting. Designed for returning students and experienced artists.

Prior experience is required. Artists new to Amapola must complete a brief studio orientation.

Glazing, standard firing, and studio tools are included. Clay, canvases, and other materials are sold separately.

Why “Amapola”?

In Spanish, amapola means poppy, but in Puerto Rico, it often refers to a vibrant red, hibiscus-like flower. Closely related to Puerto Rico’s national flower, the Flor de Maga, it reflects the island’s beauty, resilience, and spirit.

For us, Amapola Arts celebrates our Puerto Rican roots, cultural pride, and creativity.
